FLX (File EXchange) 8 is a program which is able to read and write files on OS/8 RX01 or RX50 diskettes, or from RX01, RX50, or RK05 image files. It's written in portable C and runs on (at very least) MSDOS and VMS. On a VAX equipped with suitable hardware, either a UNIBUS VAX with a RX01/RX11 or RX02/RX211 or a MicroVAX with a RX50/RQDXn, FLX8 can read and write real RX01 or RX50 media from a PDP-8 or DECmate. On any computer FLX8 can read or write images of OS/8 file systems on RX01, RX50 or RK05 media – these image files can then be used with either my WinEight PDP-8 emulator, or one of the many other PDP-8 emulators floating around.
